Your questions

Booking & Policies

How far in advance do I need to book?

It depends on the time of year and the hours you’ll need. During popular periods such as Christmas, half-term, Easter, July and August, we recommend booking as early as possible — this allows us to guarantee the same nanny throughout your stay.

Closer to the date we may still have availability, and we usually have more last-minute availability for evenings, so it’s always worth contacting us to check. Even if our online booking system isn’t showing the availability you need, we can let you know which alternative dates or nannies are free.
We always try to be as flexible as possible. During peak periods we try to avoid last-minute changes, as this helps us maintain a smooth schedule for both families and nannies. If your nanny is available and the requested change is possible, we’ll do our best to accommodate it — just get in touch as early as you can.
We assign nannies once a booking has been confirmed. This allows us to match each family with the most suitable nanny based on experience, languages spoken, availability, and the specific needs of your family.

Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll send you your nanny’s profile and details before the booking begins. If you’d like to be in touch with your nanny before your booking, just let us know and we can put you in contact a day or so beforehand.

Where availability allows, we may be able to arrange a pre-meeting with your nanny the day before your booking (for full-week bookings). Just let us know when you make your booking.
Yes — many of our families come back year after year and request the same nanny. If you’ve booked with us before and there’s someone you’d love to have again, mention it in your enquiry and we’ll do everything we can to match you. Availability isn’t always possible, especially during peak weeks, but we’ll always try.

Payment & Cancellation

How do I pay?

For daytime bookings: payment is required in advance by card. We’ll send over a payment link once your dates and times have been agreed. For evening babysitting: we take card details to secure your booking. You can then either pay the nanny directly in cash, or we can charge your card after the service has taken place.
If you need to cancel a booking, please let us know as soon as possible by email or phone.

More than 3 weeks before the booking: full refund minus an administration fee of CHF 80.
Between 3 weeks and 1 week before: 50% refund minus an administration fee of CHF 80.
Less than 1 week before: no refund will be issued.

Different rules may apply to Ski Nanny bookings during peak weeks — we’ll confirm the specifics at the point of booking.

Nanny Care Questions

How many children can a nanny look after?

Usually, one nanny can look after up to three children over 2 years old. For older children we can sometimes allow one nanny to care for more children at an additional 10% charge — it depends on the number of children, their ages, and whether the booking is daytime or evening care. For larger groups or younger children, we may recommend an additional nanny.

As a general guideline:

Under 1 year: 1 nanny per child
1–3 years: 1 nanny per 2 children
3+ years: 1 nanny per 3 children

If the children are siblings we can be more flexible, as they already share the same routine and environment. Not sure? Just contact us — we’re always happy to talk it through.
Yes. All our nannies are first-aid trained and have previous childcare experience. We carefully select our team, and every nanny goes through background and criminal record checks. We’ve spent many years recruiting and training nannies, and take pride in the process — we’d never hire a nanny we wouldn’t trust with our own children.

Many of our team have childcare, teaching or other relevant qualifications, but most importantly they have real experience caring for young children. We have a trusted relationship with each and every nanny we work with, getting to know them personally so we can match them to your family.
Our team collectively speaks English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Swedish and more. When you enquire, let us know your family’s preferred language(s) and we’ll match you with a nanny who speaks it comfortably. Every nanny on our team speaks at least conversational English.
Yes, we offer overnight childcare. This must be pre-booked in advance, with a room and bed provided for the nanny. We have two options:

Active overnight care (nanny stays awake and works through the night, e.g. maternity nursing): the normal hourly rate applies.
Passive overnight care (nanny sleeps and is only available if needed): a flat overnight rate applies between 11pm and 7am.

Just let us know your needs when you enquire and we’ll confirm the right approach.
Absolutely. Several members of our team have specialist experience with newborn care, including overnight support, feeding routines, and settling. When you enquire, let us know your baby’s age and any specific needs — we’ll match you with a nanny whose experience fits.
